Irish-Canadian tenor Colm Wilkinson is well-known and loved by audiences for originating the role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables (in London West End and Broadway) and for playing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera (at the Sydmonton Festival and in the original Canadian production).

He reprised the role of Jean Valjean during the Les Misérables 10th Anniversary Concert (at The Royal Albert Hall), as well as appearing as a special guest at the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of Les Misérables (at the O2 arena) and The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall.

He will next be seen in the Christmas release of Tom Hooper’s “Les Misérables” starring Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean. Wilkinson takes the role of the Bishop of Digne.

He spoke with showbiz editor Gloria Martin about working with Jackman and Anne Hathaway and about his current tour “Christmans and Beyond” featuring Susan Gilmour and Patricia O’Callaghan.
